• Operations Committee: In the exercise room, electrical panel problem and some equipment issues. TV room make over should be done soon. Discussion about the quiet study room and its set up. Suggestion to move the bike room there since the room is not used so often. It is a good room for the bikes. And change the current bike room to a computer/study room.
• Officer Evaluations/Transition Dinner: Evaluations we should do for the last semester. Vashil will send the spreadsheet. Transition dinner suggestion to have it before the start of the semester. 13, 15 and 16 of February are the dinner nights to get people interested in AHEC. Officer transition dinner could be on Wednesday the 7th. This could be optional for current officers.

  • Volunteer Recruitment at Coffee Hour: Cambridge public school wants to have a recruitment event at the coffee hour. January should be ok. Nothing on the coffee hour calendar. Will let the coffee hour officers know about the two proposed dates.
  • Staff Lunch: It is going to be on the 19th. AHEC presents thank you notes and gift cards. All of you sign the thank you notes. Adam will do the food ordering. We need instructions about buying gift cards since it is complicated. We also need to put a point person on the gift cards.
  • Snow in Doorways: We got large amount of snow. Snow gets stuck preventing completer door closure causing the heating to run high since the door remains open. However, Grounds have been very overwhelmed because of large amount of snow.
  • AHEC Elections: Everyone has the dates for the election and heads of house dinners. What else needs to be accomplished? We can plan to be present in some coffee hours. When to start making those rounds? Maybe next week since people might not have come back yet. We can poster for them. Last year we had the poster as well. There should be a poster for the heads of house dinners. Some people might be intimated by the idea of the nomination. But we can say anyone who goes to dinner will be nominated.
  • Star Market Closure: An article mentions that the Star Market is closing. Both the mayor and a city council member are pushing for the closure. They are trying to replace that with another grocery store. We could petition for more rounds to TJ and Whole Foods. MIT owns that land. There is the company that makes the decision about renters. It would be helpful to get a good survey of the students with something like how likely it is for them to eat less healthy with Star Market closure. The administration cares about this as well. Star Market is the place that our students go for their food. Will reach out to graduate student housing to learn more about students' preferences regarding proximity to a grocery store.
