- [Update] - Operations Officer Hiring
- One hired so far, keep Rio in the loop as we hire people.
- Just go ahead with the Officer Poster; no need to wait for new hires (especially since this is a non-standard hiring period).
- [Update] Automated Officer Interview Scheduling
- (Garrett's) code seems to run really well
- Needs tweaking to account for future AHEC as well as us, as well as current chairs.
- Applicants also get to list when they are available.
- [Update] Events Officer Expectations
- We're switching to a trimester cycle for the budget - previously Events officers had to do one event a semester, what is reasonable for a trimester?
- 6 Events each term + Orientation has 7: 25 events a year.
- Suggested: Do a yearly schedule, where each member has to lead 3 events and backup 3 others.
- Possibly create a tier list for events based on how large the scale / difficult they are to lead, to balance workload.
- [Update] Communities Committee Update
- Need to hire a new Arts Officer.
- Maybe get someone from Events to cover for Arts stuff this Spring?
- Outings: Hockey outing? Very expensive! Maybe provide a subsidy but not full price.
- [Discussion] Policy for Emergency Officer Hires
- Make thorough notes during interviews.
- Make short lists for each committee for people who are possible.
- Say in rejection email that there is some possibility of being contacted later.
- "List all officer position you would potentially be interested in" on the officer application. Useful information when hiring and also in future.
- [Discussion] Selling Ashdown Swag to Residents
- Poll interest with publicity (send out a survey - Ashdown T-shirts for $9 or so? They cost $14.)
- Other items of clothing? Scarves?
- [Discussion] – Budget Meeting
- Tuesday 9 PM (in addition to AHEC meeting)
- [Discussion] - Election Preparation
- February 9th: Election nomination dinner.
- February 6th, 13th, 14th: Spring dinners. AHEC should use these to advertise elections.
- Officer evaluations: keep in mind that elections are coming up and we should be encouraging people to participate.
- Open Floor
- Possible to "reserve" rooms for people from Practice School / not list them in the in-house lottery? Check with housing to be sure.
