- Floor Officer Ad
- No more responses.
- Make sure the first floor has some floor events to go to. Will discuss possibilities with Communities - something like giving existing floor officers more funding or having them rotate as first floor officer.
- Will recruit in the Fall
- Could potentially move existing officer to be a temporary Floor Officer for Orientation.
- Ashdown Logo
- Many logos have been submitted. Propose to take a look at them at the meeting next week to give designers feedback.
- Seamus will provide AHEC with login information so we can look at the designs ahead of time.
- Officer Transition
- German and Rio: Committee chairs should update own email lists in each term, save the officer coordinator some time.
- List of officers at front could be updated with photos in each term - ask previous AHEC whether they updated every term or less frequently.
- Inventory Cleaning
- Need to do this soon - front desk and closet are full
- Give items that clearly need to be disposed to residents: set a deadline and throw away items by this deadline.
- Monitor space in front desk.
- Keep a shared spreadsheet with inventory where we update when we take stuff out or put stuff in.
- Do this for AHEC Closet too, to keep the list of stuff in the AHEC closet up to date after AHEC cleaning.
- Inventory Suggestions
- Review at first meeting of each month starting next month.
- GSC Meeting and HCA Meeting
- Passed a budget for upcoming fiscal year. More money towards academic and research committee - more money for travel and fellowship grants for grad students.
- Accepting applications for Institute committees. Encourage Ashdown residents to apply.
- Piano Tuning
- Piano goes out of tune regularly.
- Rio: Tell Denise about this problem, maybe she has some ideas.
- Ask Inventory if they are in charge of filling a water cannister by the piano, to regulate the humidity of the room.
- Get Arts officer to follow up on checking piano tuning.
- Inventory and Garden
- Lots of weeds in plots currently. These plots are not being used and have not been assigned.
- The weeds are also a hiding spot for rabbits.
- Talk to garden officer to organize weeding event.
- Thirsty Ear
- Moving forward, there will be coordination between TEEC and Housing to have a financial plan. Thirsty is likely to lose money in the future, but is important to graduate student community and social life.
- Anyone who likes the Thirsty should push for keeping it! It's important for the Thirsty that grad students show their support so that administration sees Thirsty has support.
- Important to attend meetings regarding Thirsty Ear to show support.
- Need to get information that Thirsty is closing to graduate students.
- Encourage Ashdown residents to attend Thirsty's events over the summer.
- Additional Projects
- Seamus will touch base with Denise about first floor computer lounge to check on the status of this.
- MindHandHeart ongoing - Malvika's in charge.
- Rio: Check in with Brunch this weekend to make sure everyone serving is kitchen-trained.
- German will set a time for book lending in coffee hour.
- Got about $300 less than were asking for in Orientation budget.
- Will request $490 for continuing and boosting the composting program in Ashdown.
- Open Floor
- [Tech] Need to change schedule for AHEC meetings on the website, update music room reservation details.
- Put a sign up about quiet hours in the music room.
- Put up new officer handbook on the website.
- Review Fun Fund requests.
