- Spring Alumni Concert
- Every year we have problems attracting Alumni (like 10)
- Proposal to change name to "Spring Concert" to attract more residents
- Need to prepare presents for Alumni
- Need to start recruitment for musicians
- Last year we just had piano music
- This year we can change, maybe Salsa music
- EC discussed having Ashdown Art in the corridor
- Maybe reorganize room w/ piano in the middle and seats all around
- Have the concert during sunset (prettier)
- Have Thirsty Ear open for Alumni
- Tie it in with admitOne system for simplicity
- Seems like the Alumni concert was called Ashdown Annual Concert back in 2008
according to ashdown@mit.edu archives
- Thinking about reducing the Alumni price to $15
- HCA meeting
- >370 beds will be gone from SP, due to renovations
- Housing awaits our opinion
- Remove some beds from new students
- Remove some beds from people (1st year students at the end of their 1st year
or nth year students, n >= 2) who are entering the lottery for continuing status
- Seems like 2/3 new students and 1/3 continuing status beds would be a better way to go
- Hard for international students to find housing
- Even out-of-state is hard to find housing
- GSC meeting
- Sustainability meeting on 24th of February
- Cost of living committee: students, stakeholders, faculty
- Vacuum club
- Should we get rid of it considering the "vacuum experiment" seems to indicate
the vacuum has lasted the use of residents that are not vacuum club members
- Cleaning service for students? If Ashdown found someone, maybe residents would
pay to have their rooms cleaned?
- Ashdown Bruins game outing
- Hockey is fun!
- We have 2 Celtics games this semester
- Katie does not remember having a Bruins game outing in the past
- Jorge would be willing to organize it
- Waiting for him to send email to Ashdown to gauge interest
