Publicity newsletter and photography officer to be under AHEC secretary
Trying to decide whether we give mugs, pictures, t-shirts, plate, nalgene
How about a good picture in a great frame
Kunle and Hunter to work on this
Dheera thinks they have been in bad locations for publicity
He also doesn't think putting publicity posters on there is a good idea
We want to get the bus schedules back onto the monitors as well
Dheera will be stepping down from Tech - the solution might be to have a temp fix till new AHEC fully takes over
One idea will be to put up a photo slideshow - together with the bus info
Short term - Dheera will try to get what was up there back up
SP and a number of other dorms want to have a get-together
Nicole to reply officially to let them know that AHEC is on board
1. Beds and cots: Ann to handle these with Denise
2. Vacuums: Inventory officer to decide on the purchase and make recommendations to AHEC
People don't clean the vacuums - what do do?
Front desk to check that vacuums are clean? That might be tough?
How about nixing vacuums entirely? Nicole and Kunle disagree
How about looking for vacuums that are easier to clean?
Can we get the cleaners to clean the vacuums - AHEC is willing to pay. Ann to discuss with Denise
3. Bike toolkit: Good idea. Inventory officer to suggest one
4. Communal freezers: Matt to email/talk to Albert that new AHEC might consider it
5. Bikes for rent: On Matt's to-do list for the year. Took it off because HCA wanted to do a campus wide program
Matt thinks it a new AHEC issue to be dealt with as needed
Complete plan needed to take arrange it
6. Punching bags and gloves - AHEC can support a resident who want to champion this
7. Blue-ray player in the lounges - Albert to suggest models and AHEC can consider it
Bar-coding items for checking in stuff - currently on hold. Perhaps it can be reinitialized
Can AHEC offload the job to housing? Perhaps by coming up with a system that we can give to Housing to implement
AHEC to campaign for new bike racks for the bike room
Arrived in Guitar Center! One step closer to Ashdown :-)
Ann spoke with the interior decorator - he didn't like grey in particular
Wall and scaffolding paints either match or contrast
Nicole to send scaffolding suggestions to Ann to forward to the decorator
we are looking to get more hopefully - where should they be?
One suggestion is in building 2 where there is currently no common space
Another is above the thirsty where there is currently a lot of noise complaint
Better sound insulation in the thirsty a solution? Probably not
Seems that complaints coming from rooms not directly above the thirsty
Perhaps sound is travelling through uninsulated hallway behind thirsty - might it be worth investigating? Not sure
Should our push be for the common space be above the thirsty
If we get two - then one of them could be above the thirsty otherwise we stick to the original plan
We want it to be a quiet study - would that be affected by putting the room above the thirsty?
To be discussed in more detail at AHEC retreat
Is the funding request coming out of the budget that we already gave them?
Alex to ask him to let us know how much he has left of his budget
