This morning AHEC found out that it did not receive the deposit from the deans for this semesters' brunches. SP did in fact receive money. Typically brunch costs AHEC $800, and we get funding from a joint application with SP. We cannot afford this event without funding.
Contact: Dean Colombo and Dean Lerman, who usually give us this money and note that we did not yet get our money and request a funds transfer. This may be the spearhead of some communication problems with SP.
Future brunches may have to be Ashdown-only.
UPDATE: 4/17/2009. Albert has contacted the deans. Dean Colombo is "checking in with his staff".
Repection 6-7
Dean Lerman talk 7-8
Dorm tours 8-8:30,9ish
Ashdown sponsored dessert 8:30
There are 5 Spaces for Ashdown residents at the reception (the 8:30 dessert is open to everyone). Brandon (AHEC treasurer) is coming, Karan? Dheera?, Alumni commnittee should come at. These people would do tours.
We need one or two rooms to show alums.
This event will be in lieu of the AHEC meeting.
Old committee chairs and all new officers will be required to attend.
We need handouts about officer reponsibilities. Housing for officers is contingent on completing responsibility.
At the dinner, we will request plans for the year from everyone. Due May 10. (before housing allocation closes).
Non-critical officers are allowed not to be around for the summer.
We will have a list of new/old officers and emails.
Talks: Chair's Welcome, Treasurer, Officer Coordinator, Lottery Discussion.
Seat people according to committees, table for single people.
Alice will draft handouts for next AHEC meeting
This event will occur the Saturday before Memorial day, which is still good for everyone on AHEC. Outgoing and new AHEC will attend.
We will also invite chairs: heads of multi-person committee. Guest list TBD.
Currently, a stapled pair cannot move into a singly occupied three-person room, or non-occupied three-person room. AHEC will allow this to happen, tentatively. We will have a lottery discussion on the April 30th coffee hour.
Jonathan Rameseder (rec officer) has some requests for fitness equipment
The cost of new gym equipment is split between housing and AHEC.
Large stuff ordered by Denise. Small stuff can be purchased by AHEC or sports officer
Can bikes be moved to cardio room to make room for new equipment? Yes. Two of the three bikes will be moved. The reclining bike will stay (Terry likes this bike).
Our 10-lb dumbbells have been stolen. New ones will need to be purchased.
Equipment request: pull-up bar, calf machbine, heavier dumbbells (get customizable dumbbells), mats, CD player/MP3 player dock.
Action: JR to prioritize list, send to AHEC, who will pass it on to housing for safety reasons (MIT wants more expensive, safer equipment). JR can purchase ipod docking station independently (we will need to lock it down). JR will mark current dumbbells. JR to move bikes (get Denise to have custodial do it).
TEEC elections are coming up. Old Ashdown policy: TEEC members who are Ashdown residents (not to be confused with TEEC rep officer- Karan Mistry) get seniority points, though no continuing status.
New Policy: TEEC members will get one point per year (1/3 of the points per residency). Serving on TEEC does not change housing status, nor does it get continuing status.
