Directions

Ashdown House (MIT building NW35) is located at 235 Albany Street, Cambridge, MA 02139. (See map on whereis.mit.edu or Google)

To walk or drive to Ashdown House from the center of the MIT Campus (77 Massachusetts Ave.), go north, away from Charles River, two blocks along Massachusetts Ave. Turn left at Albany St. and go two blocks to the corner of Pacific St. The entrance to Ashdown House is at the corner of Albany and Pacific.

Public transportation
The closest MBTA stations are Central Square and Kendall, both on the Red Line. Ashdown House is about a 15-20 minute walk from either station, both of which are marked in the above map with an [M]. Bus service via MBTA buses #CT-1 and #1 ply up and down Massachusetts Avenue, connecting Harvard Square, Central Square, MIT, the Harvard Bridge, and the Boston Symphony. These buses also stop near the intersection of Albany St. and Massachusetts Ave from where you can easily walk west along Albany St. about 5 minutes to Ashdown House.

MIT shuttles
MIT community members may also use the free MIT Northwest Shuttle which serves Ashdown House from other MIT campus locations Monday-Friday 7:25am-6:42pm approximately every 10-15 minutes. For evening and late night transportation 7 days a week, SafeRide's Cambridge West and Cambridge East shuttles stop at the Warehouse (NW30) which is across the street from Ashdown House, every 30 minutes during the hours of operation, free of charge and open to all members of the MIT community.

Parking
Metered public parking is available along Albany St. and Pacific St.
